Resting in a peaceful Lot-et-Garonne valley of rolling hills, orchards, vineyards, cornfields and sunflowers, this t wonderful three bedroom gîte with two adjoining gîtes which have been converted from a large ancient barn situated near to St Livrade-sur-Lot set in 16 acres of tranquil countryside . There are a wealth of original features including oak beams and exposed stone walls coupled with stunning views over the Lot valley.
The gîtes are tastefully furnished to reflect the character and charm of the original dwellings. They're well located for a peaceful and relaxing holiday in the stunning countryside but also as a base to explore everything this fantastic region has to offer. They're ideal for large families or groups of friends holidaying together providing private space when needed. You are free to explore the 16 acres, finding wild orchids in the Spring, stargazing at night, wildlife spotting in the woods or simply relaxing in the sunshine and cool off in the large inviting swimming pool.
Within a short drive you'll find towns and villages with their pavement cafes, restaurants, shops and markets situated along the Lot River, such as the medieval village of Pujols with a renowned market which is also one of the Plus Beaux Villages de France, Villeneuve-sur-Lot a bastide town with great shops and restaurants, Agen which is the capital city of the region just 30 minutes away, or further afield is Duras which is one of the grand hilltop châteaux dotted around the region.
There is so much to see and do around the area. There are six golf courses within an hour's drive of the property. The region is famous for Agen prunes and the plentiful plum orchards stretch out for miles around. You can also look forward to mouth watering gastronomic delights of the region and, of course, the abundance of fantastic local wines. Some attractions include prune museum, waterlily collection, golf courses, fishing on the river Lot, wine tours, stargazing, bird watching, hiking, boating and canoeing/kayaking on the rivers Lot and Dordogne, cycling.
